Jim Stefan on Tips and Tricks for Being Photographed

Jim Stefan, owner and chief executive officer of EMPV Model and Talent Management Agency, spends every day surrounded by scores of beautiful men and women who make their living being photographed. Because Jim Stefan has made his living advising and managing people who are exceedingly photogenic, he has quite the knowledge of how to look your best in pictures. Jim Stefan has offered some tips.

1. Jim Stefan says that the best way to look your best in a photograph is to actually look your best in real life. Before you think that Jim Stefan is suggesting extreme weight loss or a total and complete makeover, we assure you that he just means presenting yourself well in public every day. For some, this may require additional trips to the gym, but for most, Jim Stefan advises, looking your best just means making sure that you always leave the house looking ready to be photographed.
2. Jim Stefan advises you to find your "good side." Most people have a side from which their face and body look best. To ensure the best photographs, Jim Stefan continues, you should always position yourself so that your good side is closet to the camera. To find your good side, Jim Stefan says that you should take five or ten minutes in front of a mirror to determine which one of your sides looks the best.
3. When it comes time to be photographed, Jim Stefan has the following advice: make sure you are standing up straight with your good side angled to the camera. Good posture automatically makes people look their best. Then, if you are concerned about your arms looking fatter than they really are, place your hands on your hips to ensure that your arms are not smooshed up against anything. This visual trick also works for legs.
